I'll talk more about tonight's ep later but I just have a WTF moment about the end.

So Ziva invited Jimmy, McGee, Abby and Gibbs over but not Tony? What's that about? She essentially had everyone over but him. Ducky might have been there too. What is that about? That sound just...extremely rude. I mean it's not written anywhere that you have to invite all your co-workers over but they're a pretty close knit group. Why not attempt to invite Tony? That look on his face at the end, where he realizes it wasn't just Jimmy and McGee, that Abby and Gibbs were there too. And Abby called it a party. Wow, nice going Ziva. I was starting to like her too. I'm just, i'm confused as to why she would do that.

I got the TV Guide with Mark Harmon on it and read the article. They mention tonight's ep and the 'romantic tension' that is between Ziva and Tony. I'm not really seeing that. Even tonight.

The party stuff just struck me as unnecessarily mean spirited. Her offer to cook him Italian didn't really make up for it either.

Am I supposed to feel all sorry for Tony now? Or just laugh at the hurt look on his face? I do feel kinda sorry for him but I think I'm more mad at the writers.

I feel super bad for Tony too. I thought his look at the end was so very hurt. I think it was extremely rude and unthinking on the rest of team's part. And I was really liking Ziva in this episode. It just seems purposefully hurtful.

It did. That's why I'm confused as to what the writers were trying to show us. They purposely put him on the outside and then acted like it was nothing. Way to go.

These people have very high tension jobs and have grown very close. For the new person to invite everyone or almost everyone but Tony just strikes me as mean. It's a very odd thing to do.

That ending was just...stupid. I'm already fanwanking it away, lol! I really can't believe that Ziva would do that...not the Ziva they've been showing us so far this season, the one who seems to get on well with Tony. Nor can I believe that the others wouldn't have wondered where Tony was, or would take pleasure in the fact that he wasn't there. I mean, Abby?!?! Also, I think I missed the ep where she actually started liking Ziva. Hmm.

In my mind, Ziva's trying to pull a joke on Tony, and everyone's in on it, including Gibbs. But that's the give-away, because now Tony knows she's lying, because Gibbs was with him last night. *g* Seriously, it's the only way I can live with it.

Exactly! When did this happen? I mean, Ziva seemed suprised by the hug so when did Abby become friendly, so friendly she's invited to parties and Tony isn't.

I replied to you over on the slashy list but yeah...I think I'm going to come live in your reality where Tony knows something's up since Gibbs was nailing him to the mattress the night before and no where near Ziva's.

I thought the thing with the dinner party and no Tony was just mean-spirited - you're right. That's not just a practical joke. I think the writer's don't think these things through all the time. Yes, they like to have damn near everyone 'smack' Tony every once in a while, but I think of how that would make me feel if I were in Tony's situation and it would really make me uncomfortable and unliked. So yeah - mad at the writers, definitely.

I don't see the sexual tension between Tony and Ziva, either. No spark. I don't see it between Madame Director and Gibbs, either. And this isn't because I'd rather slash the two. I've seen chemistry between a male and female lead and preferred to see one of them slashed. That's not the same thing. I can see Tony trying to nail Ziva in a play of one-upmanship or because it's just part of his drive to prove he's a ladies' man, but because he wants her? Not really.

Yeah I didn't see much sexual tension between Ziva and Tony. Especially with Tony telling her to get off of him when she was on top of him.

Some people are saying the party didn't happen, that Ziva was messing with Tony because she saw how it bothered him when she said she'd had Palmer and McGee over. I'm gonna need more proof and if it was a joke, then Abby and Gibbs agreed to it by saying they were there. Abby said it was a party. It's still a mean thing to do.

I read this
She essentially had everyone over but him
as
She essentially had everyone but him
and didn't even notice.
*headdesk*

Can't wait to see the ep. Don't feel sorry for Tony, I'm sure Gibbs will visit him after the party and find some creative use for the Tiramisu. ;-)
