So yeah how about those Avengers?

Loved this so much(not a spoiler)

Straight out, I am a hulk girl from wayyyy back. Used to watch the tv show and then had to be embarassed by my mom for years later when she'd tell everyone how i'd cry when the hulk got shot. I was five or something! And Hulk was a massive pissy angry woobie. Tried to watch the one with Eric Banana. Couldn't. Didn't even try to watch the one with Edward Norton.

But Mark Ruffalo. Yes, yes, yes. His hulk wins the fucking hulk prize baby. That zen stuff he had going on that was underlined by that knowledge that any moment he could go nuts and kill everyone. When he smashed that table in the cabin with Natasha? Then apologized cause he just wanted to see how she'd react? Um, what? Then later when he finally reveals his secret that he's angry all the time. Yeah, I'm a hulk fan again. My inner child is ecstatic.

I couldn't decide who's ass looked better, Captain America or Black Widow. I'm going to have to go with Captain America but only by a small margin. Also his shoulders. And chest. Just...everything. Yeah.

Thor is awesome all the time. No stopping, no rocking full on kick ass. I laughed at Tony's 'Shakespeare in the park' line because I'd been thinking the same thing and feeling like I was back in high school honors English. The fight with Hulk? Insert another word for awesome here. And Hulk trying to pick up the Hammer. Heh, suddenly I want a Mjolnir vid with scenes from this and the Thor movie, while 'STOP! HAMMER TIME!' plays.

Loki- Ehh, not a fan at all. I don't get the whole(okay not whole but many) fandom loves him thing. He's not a woobie. He's someone with serious issues and an annoying dick bag too. Sorry but I didn't care for him in Thor and in here, he's just. Well played to TH because he did a good job making me dislike Loki. Loved when Tony called Loki a diva because while it takes one to know one, Tony's not trying to take over the world. He killed 80 people in 2 days, he dropped his brother out of the helicarrier in that steel and glass thing. Then later he stabbed him. That is not buddies.

Natasha- Didn't know she'd get as much screen time as she did. Loved it. Should have known since this is Joss. Loved her and Clint fighting, loved her and Banner/Hulk.

Coulson- Ironman was on the other night. I did not know he'd been in part one. I'm not all the way convinced he's dead. He's badass like only badasses can be. They don't brag about it they just get.shit.done. Efficiency is hot. Who knew?

Hawkeye- His arms need their own credits because damn that man has the most beautiful arms. I could have watched a whole movie of him just shooting arrows at shit. When he nailed that thing without even looking? Unf. And the off the building thing. And out of arrows but still slinging that bow. Whenever he popped?flexed? whatever that move is called when he made his bow bigger(hee! i'm 12 made his bow erect?)before he started shooting was a very exciting scene.

Ironman- I am iffy about RDJ but he plays a good Stark. I liked him in this movie and I also liked Pepper. His line about not afraid to hit an old man made me laugh. His sacrifice in the end made me a little tense(it's JOSS and who held him back from killing everyone in this movie?). When hulk roared at him and he woke up. Ha! I also like him and Banner geeking out about stuff.

The Hulk/Thor fight was my favorite I think. Then later when Hulk punched Thor after they'd teamed up had the whole theater laughing. Some of Thor's moves reminded me of wrestling and I kept expecting to see John Cena or The Rock somewhere.

The Ironman and Thor fight in the woods with Loki watching like he wished he had the Asguardian equivalent of popcorn. Then Captain America shows up like Dad.

I think the whole team got some good screen time. Loved the power walk when Captain America,Clint and Natasha were headed for the plane.

Captain America is ready to jump out of a plane or into a fight at any time isn't he? Loved the cop questioning him and then seeing him fight.

Oh! Oh! Anybody else thing the tesseract was making a stargate at the beginning of the movie? I was totally muttering 'Where's jack and daniel?' under my breath and the alien's weapons? Like the one Natasha got ahold of? Looked kind of like Teal'c's weapon.

Loved the end with the news reports and the Avengers all heading their different ways. Except Bruce and Tony! Their going off to have a geek weekend in some lab.

So yeah, my 10 yr old loved it. My 7 yr old fell asleep on my arm in the theater. But I'm already planning to go back next friday and see it alone.

Yes! Hulk! Just hearing the old tv theme from Hulk can make me tear up like nobody's business. I loved that show. I've seen both Hulk movies and liked them (sometimes feel like I'm the only one in the world that liked the Bana version), but Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk wins my heart.

I'm pretty sure Stark and Banner can save the universe just with their bigass brains.

I loved that theme and they guy who played Banner. I wanted to marry him with all my five year old heart.

Bruce and Tony saving the world and talking in their own little code. I love that they drove off together in the end.

Heh, the beginning of this post made me laugh because I wasn't *allowed* to watch Hulk when I was five. I have this very clear memory of laying on the couch with my dad watching Hulk and my mother coming through the living room, looking at the TV, and saying, "Too violent, she's not allowed to watch this." Buzzkill mom!

Other than the fact that I don't get the big appeal of Hawkeye, I second this entire post.

Hee, I didn't care for Hawkeye that much but fanfic turned me around.

I loved that show so much. I think I can count it as my first 'must see' tv show. That or Sesame street.

I have nothing of substance to contribute other than YES. THAT!

OMG, it was so awesome. And I have absolutely no idea why I was shocked by Coulson's "death" (yes, I'm in your boat. They set it up so that someone else could totally resurrect the character, should they so choose), since this was Joss and the only other person that he would possibly be allowed to kill was Doctor Selvig.

I already know I'm going to see it again next Saturday.

I totally forgot I was watching a Joss film for a moment. Loved when Coulson still shot Loki.

I thought he'd killed Tony until Hulk woke him up with his roar which was hilarious like Hulk was saying,'wake up ironman, stop playing around.'

I love Tony/Steve so much but man I kinda want some Tony/Bruce and Steve/Thor.

I watched the Bana Hulk movie and was seriously underwhelmed - but figured since I wasn't a big Hulk fan that was it. My brother-in-law who is huge Hulk fan didn't like it either, though, but he kept telling me to watch the Norton one because it is one of the best superhero movies out there. So in the buildup to Avengers, I watched as "homework" and, you know, he was right. The Norton Hulk movie is really really good - better than Thor (which I didn't care for), IM 2 (which was ok) and Captain America (which I liked a lot). It reminded me of IM 1 where we finished watching and said - wow, that was an unexpectedly good movie. So, just as a thought, you may like it.

That said, I love Ruffalo's Bruce Banner in Avengers. He has the dry, understated humor that works well in a group of flashy personalities. And you really saw that he was brilliant too, not just struggling with anger management issues. Plus, Hulk's scenes were awesome and so funny (puny god - hahahahah).

I pretty much loved everything about the movie, and agree Coulson's only as dead as they want him to be. It wasn't called by medics onscreen and Fury is a lying manipulating badass who will get the job done, no matter how he has to do it. In this case, it was motivating such disparate individuals to form a cohesive fighting force.

My one complaint would be not enough Iron Man/Captain America since in comics canon they are pretty much best friends (when not trying to kill each other) who are very different, who fight, but who pretty much think the world of each other (and were married in an alt reality where Tony was Antonia). I've heard there was a lot of their scenes cut for time since seeing them snark a few times then fight well together worked within the story enough.

My 7 year old loved the Hulk scenes but was a little antsy by the end - it was a long movie for a little guy to sit through even though we went to a matinee.

I may have to watch the Norton one then. I thought M.R was in the 2nd Hulk movie until my husband reminded me it was Norton.

Yes, I wanted more Tony/Steve too. Maybe on the DVD?

That scene were Hulk beats the crap out of Loki was like something from the Flintstones and I laughed so much I didn't hear that he'd said "Puny God." Oh Hulk. He was awesome catching Tony at the end too.
