It's been a few days since I watched these. I might have to go back and watch them again. For research purposes. Really.
Crossroad Blues- I liked this ep because i'd vaguely heard of the urban legend about Robert Johnson selling his soul. I liked the flashbacks.
I also liked the one artist guy who was the one that originally called the demon and his horror when he's telling Sam and Dean the story about the demon sticking around. I get the feeling the fame he missed out on in life he was going to get after he died, though that may have just been my interpretation.
Loved Dean fooling the demon with two devil's traps. Those Winchester boys are not just cute, they're smart and devious.
Croatoan- I've always been interested in this mystery. I think I read a write up several years ago about them solving the mystery and concluding that the remaining settlers had been absorbed into a Native American tribe. Or I may have just read that in a book.
Wow, didn't expect Dean to be so insistent on shooting the guy. Glad Sam stopped him. Then later, I totally saw Dean staying with Sam after Sam was infected. That's Dean in a nutshell. No way was he going to leave Sam or kill him. If he was somehow forced to kill Sam I don't think Dean would live that much longer afterwards. Oh, and he told Sam what John had said. Poor Winchester boys. So much angst, so little time.
Hmm, I guess Dean should have killed that guy afterall. I was sorry to see the ex-soldier guy killed. But, at the same time it makes the show unpredictible and leaves you glued to the ep until the closing credits.
Hunted- I like Ava. She's funny. Liked her warning Sam and Sam still going off to find Dean. Gordon is creepy and his little line about John giving up or killing Sam shows how little he understands where the Winchesters come from. John said Dean may have to kill Sam as a last resort, not at the first sign.
Heh, Sam is smarter than the average bear and I'm glad the writers show us that. Wonder how long Gordon's going away for? Awww, Ava's disappeared. She kind of reminded me of Willow.
Playthings- Hee! Antiquing! Dean questioning why people always think they're gay. Poor Dean. It's cause you're pretty. Live with it. Then him getting Sam back later by saying Sam has a big doll collection.
That dollhouse was cool. I've always been mildly interested/fascinated by miniature houses and furniture. I figured how this would end before it did. Good ep, though.
Nightshift- Now I did go back and watch this episode again. I loved it. From Dean flirting with the woman at the beginning to Ronald. "A big Juan doll." That cracked me up so much. Just the way he said it. And how close he was to the truth.
Then Sam shooting him down when I think Dean wanted to tell him the truth. I like the slow motion effect when Ronald is shot. Then Henrickson. Oooo. He's just...wow. I think the proof of how much he'd studied Dean was him going right after John. That is a big sore spot with Dean and Henrickson poked that spot. Loved Dean's face and voice as he tells Henrickson he doesn't know anything about his dad. Bonnie and Clyde.
Though I still wonder if Sam and Dean are creating their own urban legend about themselves because of what they're doing and the ease of communication via the internet. Oh and Dean and Sam getting away at the end, completely fucking up Henrickson's day. And that song. I loved that song. Had someone tell me what it was and tracked it down. I'm still playing it a few times a day. Found a SPN vid to the song and I'm playing that too. 'Renegade' is so them and yes, you all are screwed.
Houses of the Holy- Dean on the bed and the magic fingers. Ha! Sam telling him he's making him uncomfortable. Loved the look on Dean's face and on Sam's.
Interesting and creepy ep. I can see people really believing and carrying out these things. Of course Sam ends up seeing the Angel. I do like how Dean had to question things once he saw how the guy Sam was supposed to stop/kill ended up.
Born under a bad sign- Hmm, I'm confused about how Meg came back. I thought she was dead since she was exorcised out of the girl. The demon in John seemed to be saying she was dead, her and his 'boy.' But maybe he just meant that they'd been sent back to hell. Oh look, it's Jo. Hi Jo. *Rolls eyes*
Loved the Bobby scene. \O/ That's right demon bastards. You don't con a con man. Plus, the idea of Bobby holy watering all his guests fills me with glee. Sam needs an amulet or tattoo or something so he can stop being possessed by things. Aww, Sam/Meg killed another hunter. And Sam wanting Dean to kill him. It's amazing how many times I want to say, "Awww poor Winchesters," when writing about them.
Okay that's it for now. I'm still reading SPN stories and I think I've read more gen stories than i've read in any other fandom. Oh and genderswitch. I used to hate genderswitch but there are so many good ones in SPN, cesty and not. Or ones where one of the brothers was always a girl.
I'm going to make myself write 500 words of one of my fics before I read some more SPN. We'll see how well this goes.
