Title: Shut up and drive pt 3
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Surprisingly gen so far
Spoilers: No
Disclaimer: Not mine or this would be some fantastical episode
A/N: I realized I wanted them to make it home at some point. This isn't that story but progress was made.
Summary: The water's cool, Peter's a brat and Nathan is losing it.
Nathan walked over to the Hilton hotel swimming pool and watched his brother. Peter lay on a float, his eyes closed. His Superman swimming trunks were wet and Nathan tried to figure out where Peter could have gotten swimming trunks.
Nathan cleared his throat, and silently groaned when Peter lazily looked his way. He knew his brother and it was going to take a big bribe or two to get him out of the pool. He might have to let Peter drive.
“Come on, Peter. Checkout’s in forty-five minutes. I’m not sitting in the car all day with you smelling like chlorine.”
Peter scooped up a handful of water and sent it his way. Little droplets hit his pants and Nathan put his hands on his hips. Peter smirked. “Why don’t you come in? We can play ‘Marco Polo.’”
“If I have to pay for another day, I’ll make you sorry. Let’s go.”
Peter shivered dramatically and said, “Ooh, I love it when you get demanding.”
Nathan frowned and waited. Peter shrugged and scratched at his tanned stomach. “Maybe I like Harrisburg. Maybe I want to stay another day.” Peter smirked and used a foot to propel him and the float out into the middle of the pool. “You should relax more, Nathan. They’re selling trunks in the hotel shop. Go get some. Spiderman would look good on you.”
Nathan rubbed his temples. He was getting a headache. “Harrisburg? Do you have sunstroke? Let’s go!”
Peter stretched and almost fell off the float. At the last moment he regained his balance and crossed his arms before putting them behind his head. He sang out, “Come in and get me!”
Nathan wanted to scream. No one got to him like Peter. Now his brother wanted to play the brat. He needed a spanking. Nathan toed off one shoe and then the other.
Peter wrinkled his nose. “What are you doing?”
Nathan unbuttoned his white shirt and said, “I’m about to drown my brother. Then I’m going to claim insanity.”
He laid his shirt on a chair and started on his belt. He almost laughed at the worried look that flashed across Peter’s face.
Peter drifted closer, “Any chance you’re going to stop?”
Nathan slipped the belt from its loops. “No.” He unbuttoned his pants and didn’t smile at Peter’s heavy sigh. “You coming out?”
Peter grumbled and rolled off the float. He lifted himself out of the water. “You do know you could get arrested, right?”
Nathan buttoned his pants and picked up his belt and shirt. He flung one arm around Peter’s shoulders. “Maybe I had on some Spiderman trunks.”
Peter snorted. “Yeah, right.”
Nathan smirked. “You never know, little brother.” He jumped in surprise when Peter tugged on the waistband of his pants and tried to peer down them. Nathan swatted him away and looked around. They were in a small covered walkway and luckily, no one was around.
“Don’t do that? What if someone saw you?”
Peter rolled his eyes. “Oh, like someone would care. They’d just think we were about to make out or something.” Peter switched subjects. “Hey, I could be a lifeguard. Wouldn’t I look cool in red with that thing they carry? I may need to rent Baywatch when I get home.”
Nathan groaned and said, “No, it would not be cool.”
Peter ignored him and continued. “Yeah, I could run up and down the beach all day in slow motion. Maybe save a few people between trying to get a good tan.”
Nathan knew at that moment that Peter didn’t want to be a lawyer. He wasn’t going to be a lifeguard, but maybe Nathan could find out what Peter wanted to study. Then they could go home and Peter could talk at their father, while Nathan made sure the family didn’t completely melt down. People thought Nathan was stubborn, but Peter had him beat when something really mattered to his brother.
Fifteen minutes later, they were headed for the car. Nathan handed over the keys after Peter gave him the puppy dog look. Peter laughed and for the next two hours Nathan cursed both himself and Peter’s driving skills.

So true!
“I’m about to drown my brother. Then I’m going to claim insanity.”
Lol, I can see him at least thinking that so many times.
