Got to see Fast and Furious

Got off work early. Went to see it with hubby, who provided many slashy remarks as we watched.
Oh my god, I loved this as a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. (It’s a franchise now! My slashy baby has grown up!)
Starts out with Dom and co. jacking a gas tanker in the Dominican Republic. Han is there and looks hotter than he did in part three. There’s some great stunts and driving and of course Dom and Letty are right there. Then the tanker blows and Han warns Dom that the police will be coming for him so he leaves Letty a big stack of dollars and his bling-bling cross necklace.
Dom is somewhere else being hot and working on cars and gets a phone call from his sister that Letty has been murdered.
Somewhere in L.A. Brian is looking uncomfortable in a suit while chasing some guy with poor impulse control when it comes to tattoos. There is lots of running and a gunfight and Brian busting through a window and tackling a guy off the roof.
He’s a Fibbie! FBI Agent Brian! Awww, I kind of want a FBI Agent! Brian action figure.
Funeral time and Brian is watching from across the street with an earpiece on. Some other agent reveals that facial recognition saw Dom crossing the border and thinks he would have been there. Brian waits until Agent Oblivious strolls off before looking straight at Dom up on a hill. The gaze of knowing where his man is.
Dom tracks down who Letty was working for by doing some CSI’ing on a road. Beats some people up and finds out some drug runner named Braga is involved.
Brian finds the guy who knows Braga but gets to the guy’s apartment just as Dom throws the guy out the window and keeps him from falling with only one arm holding his ankle. Brian runs in gun out and Dom is all “you going to shoot me?” The guy hanging out the window has jokes and asks them to continue this convo later and let his ass up.
By the way Vin Diesel looks really big in this movie. Like bigger than usual. Like ‘hulk mad’ big. I kept waiting for him to turn green.
Dom drops guy and he grabs a curtain to hang onto while Brian rushes forward to help him. Dom is a ghost.
Brian sees Mia after the Fibbies pick her up. He takes her out for coffee and tells her to stay away from Dom. She tells him she hasn’t seen him in five years and now he’s worried?
Then she spouts stuff I think we’ve all kind of figured out. She says maybe he’s not a good guy playing a bad guy, but a bad guy playing a good guy. I’ve said since part 2 that Brian’s better at breaking the law than maintaining it. The movie starts to give us several examples of this.
Brian and his gang of fibbies get a chance to go undercover, but not before Brian pops another agent for being pissy and handsy that Brian, um, did his job? The guy looks foolish and stupid and the boss guy tells him to go clean up and stop bleeding all over the floor.
Brian goes undercover (who didn’t see this coming?) and gets a chance to be a driver for Braga who uses street racers to transport his merchandise.
Dom and Brian see each other. There are mild threats but Dom doesn’t tell the partying people around them that Brian is a Fed. Awesome car race with Dom in a beast of a car that made me really want one, or to at least ride in it. With him. There is some mild drifting during the racing that I loved and a annoying gps voice that was hilarious.
Brian’s doing the right side driving again after working on three cars the Feds have impounded. There’s a comparison scene of him and Dom working on their separate cars.
Dom wins the race and calls Brian a buster. Oh, Brian your bff is all cool while you yell about him cheating. Some other guy with an English? accent mocks Brian as he leaves and this leads to Brian and Feds busting him later for meth dealing so Brian can take his spot on the driving team.
Oh there’s some girl that likes Dom and Dom flirts/mumbles at her a little.
Letty also worked on Dom’s number one car, the one his Dad drove, I think. And he’s got his bling-bling cross necklace back. Awww, I like Letty in this movie. She seemed softer, more in love with Dom. They seemed like they were in a good place then Dom decides to leave for her own good. Men.
Brian and Dom flirt/mock/threaten each other and it’s revealed that Brian just got out of jail(ooookay).
Campos, Braga’s number two guy senses the tension and asks if they know each other. Dom says Brian used to date his sister.
Meanwhile Dom is figuring out who’s car hit Letty’s. It’s some scary guy named Fenix who looks like he will kill anyone who looks at him funny. Then rape them. Then eat them. Omg, he’s a reaver.
Brian gets a call and GPS instructions and shows up at a garage where there is a bug sweep that makes Brian sweaty and has him tearing out the Fed bug in his car. Seriously, the Fed’s didn’t anticipate this? Der.
Dom looks on calmly as Brian drops the bug in a can of soda. Then they and the other drivers are loaded on a 18 wheeler and driven to Mexico. The drugs (it’s always drugs, or guns) are loaded up and the drivers are told to stay in a complete line and follow Fenix back over the border to the U.S. They all drive like ducklings until Dom gets out of line for awhile then back in line. They drive through a mountain and it’s awesome. Then they all meet somewhere and before Dom gets out of the car he turns some NOS on and hits his cig lighter.
Fenix is being all threatening and we find out what happened to Letty. Seems like Braga kills his drivers after they all get back to the U.S and Letty was the only one to escape until Fenix crashed her car and shot her.
Fenix and Dom argue and Fenix is ready to shoot everyone then Dom’s car blows up. Brian grabs a gun and shoots stuff while yelling Dom’s name. Dom is busy beating the shit out of Fenix when Brian pulls up in a hummer and tells Dom to get in the fucking car.
Dom and Brian hide out and Dom’s been shot but he doesn’t let that bother him. Mia shows up to take care of Dom’s shoulder. Later, Dom is going through Letty’s things and studies her phone before hitting ‘last number’ and Brian’s phone starts ringing. He and I say ‘oh shit’ at the same time.
There’s fighting and some straddling action and between the legs action before Brian wraps his legs around Dom’s neck. Let me retype that. He and Dom fight kinda like he and Rome did in part two and he wraps his legs around Dom’s neck. Dom then lifts Brian’s whole body up with the legs still wrapped. There’s the hoyay I know and love!
Other stuff happens but I’m too busy wishing for rewind to remember.
Brian tells Dom, Letty was working with him so Dom could get a deal and come back home.
Now Brian and Dom have Braga’s drugs and while FBI boss tells Brian to bring in the drugs and Dom, we all know that is not going to happen.
Brian proposes a plan to smoke out Braga, who’s never been seen. Plus he wants immunity for Dom.
Plan goes awry and we find out that Campos, the number two guy, is actually Braga and he’s escaped to Mexico. Dom and Brian goes have more car talk where Dom can smirk and say stuff like “the buster has become a gearhead.”
Brian and Mia pretend to make out and like each other. They have zero chemistry, but if Mia and Dom want to share Brian, I’m cool with that.
Dom decides to do the suicide thing and go after Braga and Fenix. Brian says he’s going and knows Dom isn’t expecting to come back. I’m almost expecting romantic music to come on and once again Brian gives his all for Dom.
In Mexico Dom has a chance to kill Campos/Braga but decides he’ll take him back to the US. Brian is surprised but happy. They start out for the border and Braga’s men follow.
Then Brian and Dom become the personification of Fast(Brian in his car) and Furious(Dom shooting people from his car).
More stunty stuff, Fenix almost kills Brian until Dom comes roaring into the scene. Fenix tries to dodge but Brian grabs his ankle and he gets nailed by Dom and his angry car. I like when Brian and Dom work together.
Sirens are heard and Brian tells Dom to get out of there after Dom tenderly helps a hurt Brian sit up against a car. Dom’s says he’s not running.
We cut to Dom looking like a big orange in a nifty county jail outfit. The judge is a hater and sentences him to 25 to life without the possibility of parole. Brian gets up in the middle of the sentencing and leaves.
We see Dom on his way back to Lompoc, scene of the bus rolling rolling, then cars show up and I think I might have cheered. Brian’s all badass in Dom’s car or a big muscle car just like it. Mia’s in a car and some of Dom’s friends from the beginning of the movie. Brian drives in front of the bus and you know it’s on like Donkey Kong.
It ends with Dom seeing them and smiling.
Loved it. Plot was plot with holes and Vin needed to annunciate more, but there was hotness and cars and Brian gazing longingly at Dom and that’s all I wanted. Plus that fight. The only way that fight could have been better was if they’d been shirtless. Hopefully that will be on the DVD.
