Summary: Sandra Bennet knows more than she remembers.

Betrayed

Sandra walked quickly to her bedroom. She was breathing hard and her heart felt like it was about to leap out of her chest. He was coming. She knew he was and she wouldn’t be able to stop him. She opened her closet and dug frantically behind barely used winter clothes. The box was there. She worked the combination lock and pulled out the journal.

She’d discovered it three months ago while cleaning. The combination had been easy since she used the same numbers she always used for passwords. The journal had shocked her, but it was in her handwriting. She opened the journal to a blank page and quickly wrote the date.

He’s coming. I can feel it. I won’t know who it is until it’s too late. I guess he erases himself from my memory along with everything else. This will be third recorded time but how many times has he really done it? There’s not enough information here to be sure. I’m so scared but I can’t leave. They’ll just find me. How could Jack do this? This is the only way I can keep some sort of record. Yesterday I heard Jack talking to someone about Silar? Sylar? I don’t know. I know he saw me. The kids are gone and Jack’s on a business trip, but I know that man will show up. Who is my husband?

She put the journal back in the box and tucked it behind the clothes. In the bathroom she bent down and splashed cold water on her face. When she stood back up, she caught a glimpse of a black man in the mirror before everything faded.

The End.

Nicely done, and a clever idea to introduce the journal. We saw in several episodes - including the one where Claire says 'I walked through fire' - that her mother isn't quite as daft as she appears.

OMG, this is wonderful. Thank you. I love the journal idea.

I never thought of this. It's entirely possible. And it's spooky. Entire movies have been made based on this premise, but it's so much spookier and better to read it than it is to watch it.

It's perfect.
